EUDR – Challenges of the New European Directive

The Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska and the Regional Chamber of Commerce Bijeljina, in cooperation with Bureau Veritas d.o.o. Serbia and with the support of the Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO), are organizing a training session titled “EUDR – Challenges of the New European Directive.”

Challenges of the New European Directive

The training will take place:

  • On Thursday, May 30, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at the Regional Chamber of Commerce Bijeljina, Stefana Dečanskog Street bb (Agro-Trade Center), 76300 Bijeljina.
  • On Friday, May 31, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM at the Chamber of Commerce RS, Banja Luka, Branka Ćopića Street 6, Jahorina Hall.

The topic of the training is an analysis of the expected challenges in implementing the new European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), number 2023/1115, and how the new FSCTM regulatory module can help FSC certificate holders meet EUDR requirements in the forestry, wood industry, furniture industry, paper and cardboard industry, and paper and cardboard packaging sectors.

The overarching goal of the EUDR is to reduce the European Union's involvement in global deforestation and forest degradation by minimizing the risk that products from supply chains associated with deforestation or forest degradation are placed on or exported from the EU market. Additionally, the EUDR encourages the demand for and trade in legal goods and products “deforestation-free” within the EU.

Who does the EUDR affect?

All business entities on the European market that import or export products such as:

  • Cocoa, coffee, soy, palm oil, cattle.
  • Wood, rubber, and several related materials (leather, furniture, printed paper, coal, tires, cardboard).

The lecturer for the training is Mr. Zoran Tintor, a member of FSCTM. The training is free for all participants. Registration forms and agendas can be found at the following links:
